As You saved the people who remained distinct while longing for freedom in their thoughts already marking out the seventh day for rest — so, save us, please. As You saved the people You led and guided as Your flock and gave a Law at Mara, by the still waters — So, save us, please. As You saved those who received Your gift in the Wilderness of Sin, the camp, who were taught and collected two-fold bread on a Friday — So, save us, please. As You saved those who clung to You, who learned of their own mind to prepare for the Sabbath, / and [Moses] their shepherd blessed their strength and concurred — So, save us, please. As You saved those who ate [manna] stored up on [their day of] delight, and it looked no different and its scent had not spoiled — so, save us, please. As You saved those who learned every law of a journey on the Sabbath, who rested, stopped, and kept the boundaries of domain and encampment - SO, save us, please. As You saved those who could hear the fourth commandment at Sinai: both “Remember” and “Keep” to make the seventh day holy SO, save us, please. As You saved those commanded to march seven times round Jericho, besieging her to strike until she fell on the Sabbath — so, save us, please. As You saved Kohelet [Solomon] and his people in the eternal House, when they came to please You for seven days and seven — so, save us, please. As You saved those who returned, rising up from Exile, redeemed, as they read Your Torah on this Festival, each day- _ so, save us, please. As You saved those who rejoiced for You in the second House, renewed, in the Sanctuary where they took up the lulav all seven days — SO, save us, please. As You saved those whose willow beating overrode the Sabbath, who placed branches from Motza at the base of the Altar — So, save us, please.
