Seventh Hakafa Holy and awesome, please save us. Compassionate and gracious, please grant us success. Dweller in the heavens, answer us on the day we cry. Supporter of the innocent, please save us. Eternally powerful, please grant us success. Perfect in His deeds, answer us on the day we cry. Some add: More precious than gold, than much fine gold. Ps. 19 They are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb. The LORD’s voice makes hinds calve and strips the forests bare, Ps. 29 and in His Temple all say: “Glory!” The LORD sat enthroned at the Flood; the LORD sits enthroned as King forever. The LORD will give strength to His people; the LORD will bless His people with peace. God will bless us, and all the ends of the earth will fear Him. Ps. 67 Accept our plea and heed our cry, You who know all secret thoughts. Yours, LORD, are the greatness and the power, 1 Chr. 29 the glory, majesty and splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is Yours. Yours, LorD, is the kingdom; You are exalted as Head over all. Then the LORD shall be King over all the earth; Zech. 14 on that day the LORD shall be One and His name One. And in Your Torah it is written: Listen, Israel: the LORD is our God, the LORD is One. Deut. 6 Blessed be the name of His glorious kingdom for ever and all time. The Torah scrolls are returned to the Ark except for those used in the Torah Reading. The service continues with Removing the Torah from the Ark, beginning with “Listen, Israel” on page 566. In Maariv, three (in some congregations, five) are called up and the “VeZot HaBerakha” Torah portion (pages 1214a-1214b) is read. See law 138. During Shaharit, the prevalent custom is to call up every adult male in the congregation. See law 141.
