Niaausn and Lemirot for sNaDDat JVLOTNINS Some say: pn Prepare the feast of perfect faith, joy of the holy King. Prepare the royal feast. This is the feast [mystically known as] “the Holy Ancient One” - and “the Small Face” and “the Field of Holy Apples” [mystical terms for aspects of the Divine] come to partake in the feast with it. JID I will prepare the Sabbath morning feast, and invite to it “the Holy Ancient One.” May His radiance shine on it, on the great Kiddush and goodly wine that gladdens the soul. May He send us His splendor; may we see His glory; may He reveal to us His whispered secrets. May He disclose to us the reason for the twelve loaves of bread, which are [the twelve combinations of the letters of ] His name, and [the twelve sons of Jacob] the youngest patriarch. May we be united with the One above, who gives life to all; may our strength increase and [our prayers] reach [God's] head. Laborers in the field [of Torah] rejoice with speech and voice, speaking words sweet as honey. Before the Master of the Universe, reveal the meaning of, and give new interpretations to, matters veiled in mystery. To adorn the table with precious secrets, deep, esoteric, not widely to be shared. These words will become a firmament; new heavens, and then [the Glorious One] will be the sun. He will be lifted to a higher level, and take again His bride, from whom He has been separated. m7 Mt The LORD lives; my Rockis blessed. My soul glories in the LORD. For the LORD gives light to my lamp; His radiance shines on my head. The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He leads me beside the still waters. He gives food to all flesh; He feeds me my daily bread. May it be Your will, You, my holy God, To prepare a table before me, to anoint my head with oil. Who will lay my rest before the LORD of peace, and grant that my children stay faithful, [blessed with] life and peace? May He send His angel before me, to accompany me on the way. I lift my face with a cup of salvation; my cup is filled to overflowing. My soul thirsts for God; may He fill my store with plenty. I lift my eyes to the sages, [celebrating Shabbat] like Hillel, not Shammai. Most delightful of days and eternity’s years; awake, my soul, awake. Above my head let there shine as one, the lamp of the commandments and the Torah’s light. Advance, LORD, to where I rest; You and Your mighty Ark. Please, God, take my blessing and strengthen the shield of Your seer. nb sit A psalm of David. The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He makes Ps. 23 me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside the still waters. He refreshes my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You set a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup is filled to overflowing. May goodness and kindness follow me all the days of my life, and may I live in the House of the LORD for evermore.
