Truly He is our King, there is none else,
as it is written in His Torah: “You shall know and take to heart this day Deut. 4
that the LORD is God, in the heavens above and on the earth below.
There is no other.”
Therefore, we place our hope in You, LORD our God,
that we may soon see the glory of Your power,
when You will remove abominations from the earth,
and idols will be utterly destroyed, when the world will be perfected
under the sovereignty of the Almighty,
when all humanity will call on Your name,
to turn all the earth’s wicked toward You.
All the world’s inhabitants will realize and know
that to You every knee must bow and every tongue swear loyalty.
Before You, LORD our God, they will kneel and bow down
and give honor to Your glorious name.
They will all accept the yoke of Your kingdom,
and You will reign over them soon and for ever.
For the kingdom is Yours, and to all eternity You will reign in glory,
as it is written in Your Torah: “The LORD will reign for ever and ever.” Bx.15
> And it is said: “Then the LORD shall be King over all the earth; Zech. 14
on that day the LORD shall be One and His name One.”
Some add:
Have no fear of sudden terror or of the ruin when it overtakes the wicked. Devise es 2
your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose your plan, but it will not stand, for God
is with us. When you grow old, I will still be the same. When your hair turns gray, I Is. 46
will still carry you. I made you, I will bear you, I will carry you, and I will rescue you.
MOURNER'S KADDISH
The following prayer, said by mourners, requires the presence of a minyan.
A transliteration can be found on page 1389.
Mourner: Daan Magnified and sanctified may His great name be,
in the world He created by His will.
May He establish His kingdom,
make His salvation flourish, and hasten His messiah,
in your lifetime and in your days,
and in the lifetime of all the house of Israel,
swiftly and soon - and say: Amen.
