THE FIRST DAY OF SUKKOT AND THE SECOND DAY OUTSIDE ISRAEL On the first day of Hol HaMo'ed in Israel, for Levi start where Revi'i on Shabbat would otherwise start, for Shelishi read to the end, and for Revi'i read from the second Torah scroll. The LORD spoke to Moses, saying: Speak to the children of Israel, (Shabbat: saying to them: The appointed times of the LORD which you shall ay proclaim to be days of sacred assembly: these are My appointed times: For six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of utter rest, a sacred assembly; you may not do any work. It is a Sabbath for the LORD in all of your dwellings.
