After Half Kaddish (page 576), the Maftir is read from the second Torah scroll on both the first and second days of Pesah. On the fourteenth day of the first month there shall be a Pesah offering oe to the LORD. And on the fifteenth day of this month there shall bea festival: seven days unleavened bread shall be eaten. On the first day there shall be a sacred assembly: you shall do no laborious work. And you shall bring an offering consumed by fire, a burnt-offering to the LORD: two young bullocks, one ram, and seven yearling male lambs; they shall be to you unblemished. And you shall perform their meal offerings, fine flour mixed with oil, three-tenths of an ephah for each bull, two-tenths ofan ephah for the ram; and one-tenth of an ephah for each of the seven lambs; and one goat for a sin-offering, to make atone ment for you. All this aside from the morning burnt-offering, the daily offering; You shall offer all of these as food, on each of the seven days, a burnt-offering by fire of pleasing aroma to the LORD, along with the regular daily offering and its libation. On the seventh day there shall be a sacred assembly: you shall do no laborious work. HAFTARA FOR THE FIRST DAY OF PESAH In some congregations, the Haftara begins at “At that time” below (at the *).
