Memorial Prayer for Fallen Israeli Soldiers Dwav IYI Heavenly Father, God, Source of the spirits of all flesh, remember, we pray You, the pure souls of our sons and daughters who heroically gave their lives in defense of the people and the Land. Swifter than eagles, stronger than lions, they fought for the liberation of their people and homeland, sacrificing their lives for Israel's rebirth in its holy land. They breathed a spirit of strength and courage into the whole house of Israel, in the Land and the Diaspora, inspiring it to go forward toward its redemption and liberation. Remember them, our God, for good, together with the myriad holy ones and heroes of Israel from ancient times. May their souls be bound in the bonds of everlasting life, may the Garden of Eden be their resting place, may they rest in peace and receive their reward at the End of Days. Amen. ab Of David. Blessed is the Lorp, my Rock, who trains my hands for war, Ps. 144 my fingers for battle. He is my Benefactor, my Fortress, my Stronghold and my Refuge, my Shield in whom I trust, He who subdues nations under me. Lorn, what is man that You care for him, what are mortals that You think of them? Man is no more than a breath, his days like a fleeting shadow. Lorn, part Your heavens and come down; touch the mountains so that they pour forth smoke. Flash forth lightning and scatter them; shoot Your arrows and panic them. Reach out Your hand from on high; deliver me and rescue me from the mighty waters, from the hands of strangers, whose every word is worthless, whose right hands are raised in falsehood. To You, God, I will sing a new song; to You I will play music on a ten-stringed harp. He who gives salvation to kings, who saved His servant David from the cruel sword: may He deliver me and rescue me from the hands of strang- ers, whose every word is worthless, whose right hands are raised in falsehood. Then our sons will be like saplings, well nurtured in their youth. Our daughters will be like pillars carved for a palace. Our barns will be filled with every kind of provision. Our sheep will increase by thousands, even tens of thousands in our fields. Our oxen will draw heavy loads. There will be no breach in the walls, no going into captivity, no cries of distress in our streets. Happy are the people for whom this is so; happy are the people whose God is the Lorn.
