Most omit this passage on Shabbat and Yom Tov. Master of the Universe, just as Abraham our father suppressed his compassion to do Your will wholeheartedly, so may Your compassion suppress Your anger from us and may Your compassion prevail over Your other attributes. Deal with us, LORD our God, with the attributes of loving-kindness and compassion, and in Your great goodness may Your anger be turned away from Your people, Your city, Your land and Your inheritance. Fulfill in us, LORD our God, the promise You made in Your Torah through the hand of Moses Your servant, as it is said: “I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and also My covenant with Isaac, and also My covenant with Abraham I will remember, and the land I will remember.” And it is said: “Even so, when they are in the land of their enemies I shall not reject them and shall not detest them to the point of destruction, to the point of breaking My covenant with them, for I am the LORD their God.” And it is said: “I shall remember for them the covenant of the early ones, those I took out of the land of Egypt before the eyes of the nations, in order to be their God: I am the LORD.”

And it is said: “And the LORD your God shall restore your fortunes and have compassion for you, and shall return and gather you in from all the nations among whom the LORD your God has scattered you. If your distanced ones are at the very ends of the heavens, from there shall the LORD your God gather you; from there shall He bring you.” And it is said: “Then the LORD your God will bring you to the land your ancestors possessed and you will possess it; and He will make you more prosperous and numerous than your ancestors.” It has been said by Your prophets, “LORD, be gracious to us, we have waited for You, be their strength by morning, our salvation in times of trouble.” It is said, “This is a time of trouble for Jacob, but he will be saved from it.” And it is said: “In all their troubles He too was troubled, and the angel in His presence saved them; in His love and His mercy He redeemed them, took them up and carried them all those days of long ago.” And it is said, “Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity and forgives the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not stay angry for ever, but delights in loving-kindness. He will again have compassion on us, suppress our iniquities, and cast into the depths of the sea all their sins. Grant truth to Jacob, kindness to Abraham, as You promised our fathers in days long ago.” And it is said, “I shall bring them to My holy mountain, and I shall make them rejoice in My House of prayer; their offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted, desired on My altar, for My House will be called a house of prayer for all peoples.”
