Great waters cannot quench love, nor torrents sweep it by. If a man offered all his inheritance for love - they would laugh him to shame. [The Brothers] We have a little sister, her breasts are not yet grown; what shall we do for our sister when a man comes for her? If she were a wall we would build a silver watchtower; if a door, then we would bar her up with cedar. [She] But I am a wall. My breasts are like towers. It was when I was so that I found peace in his eyes. Once, Solomon had a vineyard at Ba’al Hamon. He gave the vineyard over to the keepers; each keeper brought him in a silver thousand from the fruits. My vineyard stands before me, my own: Solomon, keep your thousand; pay two hundred to each keeper of the vines. [He] “You who still sit in the gardens, friends listen for your voice. Have me hear.” [She] Away with you, my beloved, like a gazelle, or a young deer, over perfumed hills.

Would that he kiss me with that mouth. Better than any wine is your love. Wake now, north wind, south wind, come: breathe life into my garden, let its perfumes flow. Let my beloved come to his garden, and eat his sweetest fruits. The voice of my beloved - I hear him coming - springing over the hills, leaping the slopes. I have come into my garden, my sister, my bride; I have gathered my myrrh and my balsam, I have eaten my honeycomb with honey, I have drunk my wine with milk - Eat, loved ones, eat; drink, drink deep of love.

EREV SHABBAT

In some congregations the following psalm is said before Minha on Friday afternoon. On Erev Yom Tov and Hol HaMo‘ed it is omitted.
Psalm 107

English
Thank the LORD for He is good; His loving-kindness is for ever. Let those the LORD redeemed say this - those He redeemed from the enemy’s hand, those He gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south. Some lost their way in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could live.
