ROSH HODESH PRAYER
434 On Rosh Hodesh, xian nb is added to the seventeenth blessing of the Amida (רְצָה) in Ma’ariv, Shaharit and Minha ] תכב: א nx yw], and to the third blessing of Birkat HaMazon (page 1039) ,[שם תכד: א] 435 If one forgets to say x12" יעלה in its proper place in the Amida, but realizes be- fore beginning the blessing ex inysw vin, one should immediately say my xia and continue with the rest of the blessing. If one realizes the omission immediately after completing the blessing xd inyav vinan, one should say ויבא 14» and continue with the following blessing. If one realizes the omission after beginning the words 7 ,מודים אָנְחנוּ one must repeat the Amida from the beginning of the seventeenth blessing (from the word m1). If one realizes the omission after completing the Amida, one must repeat the Amida from the beginning [שו"ע או"ח, תכב: א] 436 If one forgets to say יעלה ובוא in Maariv, one does not repeat the Amida [ow]. 437 Shaharit: as for weekdays, although one adds special verses for Rosh Hodesh in the Korbanot (page 47) או"ח, תכא:א] yw]. sia יעלה is added to the Amida (see laws 434-435). After the Repetition of the Amida, Tahanun is omitted, and the congregation says Half Hallel או"ח, תכב: ב] yw], followed by Full Kaddish, the Daily Psalm, Psalm 104 (בַּרְכִינָפְשִי) and Mourner’s Kaddish. 438 Torah reading: page 1165. Four men are called up ] או"ח, תכג: א yw]. Note that the second aliya begins by repeating the last verse of the first aliya תכב ג] nx yw). Half Kaddish is said after the Torah is read. The service continues with Ashrei and וּבָא לְצִיון and the Torah is returned to the Ark, followed by Half Kaddish. The tefillin are then removed | או"ח, תכ yw], and the congregation says Musaf for Rosh Hodesh. This is followed Full Kaddish and the conclusion of the service is as for weekdays.
Laws of Hallel 439 Hallel is said standing [1:19n, nx yw]. On Rosh Hodesh and the last six days of Pesah, the abridged form, Half Hallel, is said או"ח, תכב:ב; תצ ד] yw], omitting the first halves of Psalm 225 (3x4) and Psalm 116 (yaw (אהַבְתִ 440 At the beginning of Psalm 118 (ate ,הודו לִיהוה page 783), it is customary for the Shaliah Tzibbur to say each of the four verses out loud, and the congregation responds with tron כִּילְעולֶם ates תכב, כ ] הודוּ ליהוה yw]. Some advise the congre- gation to quietly say each verse with the Shaliah Tzibbur.
